The PiO Film Awards
In honor of the upcoming Academy Awards, I have put together my own film awards for 2007. As is only fair, I have included only nominees from films that I have seen, so please pardon any oversights. I did not put any restrictions on myself as to the number of nominees in each category. Sadly, as is usually the case, the number of deserving female nominees is significantly outweighed by the male nominees. 2007 was one of the best years for film in recent memory, although the number of great male-dominated movies has led me to dub 2007 "The Year of Testosterone."
