American Idol Rankings

Here are my rankings following the performances of the top 24 men and women. The women were much better overall, so they go first.

An easy top 6 for the women, but after that they are all pretty much equally average.

1. Lakisha Jones - She blew most of her competition away with the "Dreamgirls" showstopper.

2. Melinda Doolittle - So good she should already be an established artist.
3. Sabrina Sloan - Great power and attitude.
4. Stephanie Edwards - Strong performer, great voice.
5. Jordin Sparks - She really has some power and a nice sound.
6. Gina Glocksen - Great range. I am looking forward to hearing more from her.
7. Nicole Tranquillo - Didn't like the performance, but her voice was interesting.
8. Leslie Hunt
9. Alaina Alexander
10. Amy Krebs - Boring
11. Haley Scarnato - Totally average performance of a terrible song.
12. Antonella Barba - An atrocious performance. Missed almost every note.

I may have mixed up a few of these guys. After the top 4, they were a largely forgettable group.
1. Blake Lewis - He deserves this just for singing a contemporary song (finally someone did!), but he sang it pretty well too.
2. Phil Stacey
3. Chris Sligh - Damn funny and a good singer to boot.
4. Chris Richardson
5. Brandon Rogers
6. Paul Kim
7. Jared Cotter
8. Nicholas Pedro
9. Sanjaya Malakar - Sweet, nice sounding voice, but too boring and retro.
10. AJ Tabaldo
11. Rudy Cardenas
12. Sundance Head - I think he has potential to be better, but this performance was just poor.
